The Property & Cabins
Is Carawirry suitable for a romantic getaway?
Yes — this is one of the most popular reasons people stay. Each cabin is completely private with its own plunge pool or outdoor bath, fireplace, deck, and peaceful forest views. Many couples describe it as their favourite romantic escape in NSW.
Are the cabins pet-friendly?
No. Unfortunately, none of the cabins or the property are pet-friendly. We are unable to accommodate dogs or other pets.
Exception for registered support animals:
We welcome registered support animals or guide dogs. If you require a support animal, please contact us directly with the relevant documentation so we can assess and approve the request.
Do the cabins have private outdoor baths or plunge pools?
Yes. Every cabin has its own private outdoor bathing experience (plunge pool, outdoor baths or wood-fired hot tub).
Is Carawirry suitable for families with babies or toddlers?
Yes — all cabins are suitable for children, including babies and toddlers.
We can provide one high chair and one porta cot per cabin at no extra charge. Just let us know when you book so we can have them ready. Please bring your own fitted sheet and bedding for the porta cot.
How private is each cabin?
Each accommodation is deliberately set apart from the others, giving you a private place to settle into the forest without neighbouring cabins looking in. You may occasionally see or hear other guests while using shared roads, walking trails or outdoor areas. Only an All of Carawirry booking guarantees exclusive use of the entire property.
What makes Carawirry special?
Guests consistently mention the incredible privacy, the quality of the cabins, the peaceful forest setting, and how well-equipped everything is. Many say it’s the perfect balance of luxury and nature — a true escape.
How off-grid is Carawirry?
We’re wonderfully secluded on 250 acres of private forest, but not completely off-grid. You have Starlink WiFi, reliable power, hot water, and full kitchens. Mobile reception is limited (perfect for a digital detox).
Will we see wildlife?
Very likely! Guests regularly see a wonderful variety of wallabies (including many different types in the wallaby family), goannas, echidnas, bower birds, kookaburras, and many other birds and animals. The forest is very much alive with native wildlife.

No — it’s fully self-check-in for privacy. You will receive all your arrival information (including the door code, WiFi password, detailed driving directions, and other important stay info) 3 hours before your arrival via email to the address you booked with.
Do the cabins have kitchens?
Yes — all cabins have full kitchens with everything you need to cook (fridge, oven, cooktop, microwave, coffee pod machine, etc.).
Do you provide firewood?
Yes — we supply plenty of firewood for both the inside fireplace and the outside firepit, along with firelighters and matches.
The Gum Leaf Cabin also has additional firewood specifically for the wood-fired plunge tub.
Is there phone reception or WiFi?
Starlink WiFi is available in all cabins and is reliable and strong. Many guests successfully work remotely if needed while staying at Carawirry. Mobile reception is patchy (Telstra works best). Many guests also enjoy the opportunity for a partial digital detox.
Is Carawirry a good place for a digital detox?
Yes — it’s excellent for a digital detox. While the Starlink WiFi is strong enough for remote work when required, the deep forest location and limited mobile reception make it very easy to disconnect and unwind.
Can I drink the tap water?
Yes — we drink the tank rainwater daily and it’s perfectly safe. However, if you prefer not to drink tank water, you’re welcome to bring bottled water from the shop.
Are the beds comfortable?
Yes — our guests very frequently comment on how comfortable the beds are. We use high-quality mattresses and premium linens so you can enjoy a great night’s sleep in the peaceful forest.
What should we bring?
Each cabin is very well equipped, but we recommend bringing:
- Personal toiletries
- Beach towels (if visiting local swimming spots)
- Bedding and sheets for the porta cot (if using)
- Torch / headlamp for moving around at night
- Your favourite snacks or drinks
We provide quality bed linen, bath towels, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, full kitchen equipment, firewood, firelighters, and basic cleaning supplies.
Is there heating and air conditioning?
Yes — all cabins have reverse-cycle air conditioning (heating & cooling) plus wood-burning fireplaces for that cosy forest atmosphere.
What is your smoking policy?
Smoking is not permitted inside any of the cabins. You may smoke outside on the decks, but we ask you to dispose of cigarette butts responsibly.
Are there quiet hours?
Yes — we ask guests to keep noise to a respectful level between 9:00 pm and 9:00 am to preserve the peaceful forest environment for everyone.
