Plan your event stay
Start with your group, dates and event requirements. The planner will suggest a practical accommodation starting point and calculate an indicative estimate. The Carawirry team will then review the details personally, check suitability and current availability, and send you a tailored quote.
Before you begin: Count everyone who will be on the property, including overnight guests, day visitors, suppliers and facilitators. The maximum total is 50 people.
Nothing is held or confirmed when you use the planner.
How we match accommodation to your group.
The planner begins with your overnight guest number, then considers bedroom layout, privacy and whether you prefer the closest practical fit, more room to spread out or exclusive use of the whole property.
A facilitator may need a separate cabin. Several households may prefer more separation. The numbers provide a starting point; the way the group needs to use the property determines the final arrangement.
- Up to 14 overnight guests: A Tathra House-based arrangement, with the Humpy added when the sleeping plan requires it.
- 15–18 overnight guests: Tathra House, the Humpy and the Cottage.
- 19–20 overnight guests: Tathra House, the Humpy, the Cottage and the Nook.
- 21–22 overnight guests: A tailored combination that adds the Treehouse or Gum Leaf Cabin according to your group’s sleeping and privacy needs.
- 23–34 overnight guests: All of Carawirry.
These are planning starting points, not automatic room allocations. We will check the bedroom layout, who is happy to share, how much privacy your group wants and the shape of the event before confirming the final arrangement.
Accommodation and gathering spaces.
Each stay has a distinct sleeping layout and practical role. The planner combines them around your guest numbers and privacy requirements, so you do not need to compare every possible configuration manually.
Tathra House + The Humpy
Tathra House is the practical base for many event stays, with five flexible bedrooms and the property’s largest kitchen and shared living areas. The Humpy sits 30 metres away and adds a self-contained space for up to four people. Together, they sleep up to 14. Every bedroom in Tathra House and the Humpy has a king bed that can be separated into two singles, giving organisers flexibility when allocating rooms.
The Cottage + The Nook
The Cottage and Nook sleep up to six people and are a natural next addition when a group needs more space than Tathra House and the Humpy can provide. They are easily accessible from the private Tathra area while still giving hosts, facilitators or attendees a separate place to stay. Every bedroom in the Cottage and Nook has a king bed that can be separated into two singles.
The Treehouse + Gum Leaf Cabin
The Treehouse and Gum Leaf Cabin add more bedrooms and greater separation across the property. The Treehouse sleeps up to eight and Gum Leaf Cabin sleeps up to six. Unlike Tathra House, the Humpy, the Cottage and Nook, their bed configurations are fixed: bedrooms have queen beds, with double sofa beds providing the additional sleeping capacity. They may be included in larger arrangements when this room setup suits the group.
A flexible, open-plan space for the event itself.
The Shed is a renovated 9 × 6 metre space suitable for workshops, wellness sessions, classes, shared meals and other approved uses. Large stacking doors open onto the covered veranda, allowing the space to work as an indoor or indoor-outdoor event area.
It has power, Starlink Wi-Fi, reverse-cycle air conditioning, flexible lighting and open rafters. The room is supplied as a practical blank canvas; furniture, styling, equipment and event setup are arranged separately.
When you book All of Carawirry: The Shed is included at no additional charge.
When you make a partial-property booking: The Shed may be added only when Tathra House is included in the accommodation booked, as it sits within the Tathra House area. It costs an additional $110 per booked night, must be added for every night of the accommodation booking and does not provide sleeping capacity.
Tell us how you plan to use the Shed, what equipment you intend to bring and which suppliers will attend so we can confirm the practical details before the event.

Important event conditions.
Carawirry is a forest accommodation property rather than a purpose-built event venue. Every event must suit the setting, facilities, access and accommodation booked. These conditions protect attendees, the buildings, native wildlife and other people staying on the property.
- Every event and activity must be agreed with Carawirry in advance. Send us the final list of suppliers attending before the event date so we know who will be on the property and can coordinate access.
- Overnight occupancy and total attendance must stay within the numbers confirmed in your booking.
- Partial-property bookings are not exclusive. Access is limited to the accommodation and areas included in your booking, and unapproved visitors are not permitted.
- Cars, vans and supplier vehicles must stay on gravel roads, driveways and designated parking areas. Vehicles cannot drive or park on grass.
- Plans must suit the forest setting and must not damage the property, create an unsafe situation or adversely affect native wildlife.
- NSW public holidays are stay-over days only, with no arrivals or departures.
- Carawirry’s usual fire, smoking, pet, pool and outdoor-bath, check-in, check-out and property rules continue to apply unless an approved event term says otherwise.
You will receive the event-specific terms with your tailored quote. You can also read Carawirry’s full terms and conditions and frequently asked questions before booking.
Event stay questions
How many people can stay at Carawirry for an event?
Up to 34 people can stay overnight when All of Carawirry is booked. Up to 50 people may be on the property in total, including everyone staying overnight, day visitors, suppliers and facilitators.
Do we have the whole property to ourselves?
Only when you book All of Carawirry. With a partial-property booking, other people may be staying elsewhere on the property and may use shared areas or walking trails. Your group may use only the accommodation and spaces named in your booking.
Is the Shed included?
The Shed is included at no additional charge with All of Carawirry. With a partial-property event stay, it may be added only when Tathra House is included in the accommodation booking. Does the planner check availability or hold our dates?
Not yet. It gives you an indicative recommendation and estimate so we have a useful place to begin. The Carawirry team will check current availability, event suitability and the final accommodation arrangement before sending a tailored quote. Your dates are not held until your booking is confirmed.
Can we bring caterers, photographers or facilitators?
Absolutely. You arrange and pay caterers, photographers, facilitators and other suppliers directly. Before the event date, send us a list of the businesses and individuals you have booked, what they will provide and when they need access to the property.
