Explore the black bulga range

Carawirry is hidden at the foot of the Black Bulga Range on the Carawirry Creek just north of Main Creek, NSW. While Carawirry is very remote it is also very close to all your basic needs in the beautiful country town of Dungog, about 16km south of Carawirry.

from dungog to carawirry

From the main street in Dungog (Dowling Street), continue through Dungog onto Stroud Hill Road, past the Dungog Obelisk, over the railway crossing and over the Williams River Bridge.

From the Obelisk drive 5.8km (or so) to and turn left onto Monkerai Rd, Stroud Hill.

Go over the railway line again (Dingadee Bridge) and take the next left down Main Creek Road (2km from turnoff). You will go over Cox’s Bridge almost straight away, then past a dairy.

Follow this road for about 8kms (it will eventually turn to dirt) then at the Y intersection turn right onto Cabbage Tree road. You will see the Carawirry sign and other accommodation/Forestry signs. Go along Cabbage Tree Road and at the third driveway along is the cabin driveway.
