Sit back and read a book on the hammock while you get frequented by wildlife creatures, interested in checking out what the disturbance is. Or have a rest in front of a cozy fire, just talk and listen to your partner, friends or family with no interference from the outside world.
In summer go down to the cool "Carowiry" creek and explore nature. Or go down to our favorite secret swimming hole at the Telegherry River. How about a walk along Cabbage tree road on dusk to see some of the more shy creatures, or even fireflies in October. There is so much that you can do if you are willing to adventure that you will need to return to Carawirry many times, have you ever experienced a thunderstorm in the Mountains???...Unbelievable!
If this is not enough, how about bringing your Mountain Bike, there are fantastic mountain bike trails that are easily accessed from Carawirry, from mountainous challenges to nice long flat runs. Explore the State forest or go for a 16km ride into Dungog for lunch and stroll back again for a BBQ on the Veranda with the Kookaburras.
How about a nice drive to PollBlu on the Barrington Tops Plateau, stopping along at Thunderbolts Lookout and stopping at one of many picnic spots along the Barrington Tops Road. There are many things you can do here at Carawirry Cabins & Wildlife Refuge, these are but a few suggestions, other ideas might include 4WD exploring in the forest, horse riding just up the road at Topline .
The nearby forest also has many places of interest such as Dundungara Falls Jerusalem Creek Falls and picnic area, The Knob lookout, Dixie's Tops Lookout, Chichester Dam ,Mount Allyn lookout and Burraga Swamp to name just a few.
